Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Goal Guru.
What is a football analytics platform?
−A football analytics platform collects live and historical match data — shots, corners, cards, possession, momentum — and turns it into something you can actually read and use. Instead of only telling you the score is 1-0, it shows you how the match got there: which team is creating chances, whether pressure is building, and how today's numbers compare to past games. Goal Guru adds a personalization layer on top, so the stats and alerts you see are built around the teams, leagues, and match situations you care about.
What is Goal Guru?
+Goal Guru is a football analytics and real-time match tracking app for iOS and Android, built for fans and analysts who want more than a basic score app. You can follow live stats across hundreds of leagues, explore team pages and head-to-head data, get AI match analysis from Guru Vision, and create custom Smart Alerts — for example, 'notify me when a team records 5+ shots in the last 15 minutes.' There's a free tier, so you can start without a subscription.
How can I track live football matches?
+Open the Matches tab to see every match currently being played, with real-time stats like goals, shots, corners, cards, and possession. You can pin favorite matches to the top, filter by league, and tap any match for a detailed minute-by-minute view. And if you can't watch everything at once, set a Smart Alert — Goal Guru scans all live matches for you and sends a push notification the moment your conditions are met, so the action finds you instead of the other way around.
What kind of data does this platform provide?
+Goal Guru covers four layers of football data. Live match stats: goals, shots on/off target, corners, cards, possession, and momentum. League data: tables and standings with promotion and relegation zones, plus team performance metrics. Dedicated Team Pages bring a team's form, squad, standings, and upcoming fixtures together in one place. Historical data: head-to-head records, goal distributions by 15-minute period, comeback rates, and shot efficiency. And AI analysis from Guru Vision and Guru Summary: result confidence, projected scorelines, goals, cards, corners, and a daily digest of the best picks with a Results tracker.
Does Goal Guru offer AI football predictions?
+Yes, in three forms. Pre-Match Predictions give you a probability read before kickoff. Live Predictions update roughly every minute during the match itself — win probability, next-15-minutes goal odds, xG, and more — currently free for every signed-in user. And Guru Vision AI generates a written match analysis you can regenerate on demand as the game develops, grounded in live stats, recent form, and head-to-head history — dig deeper with Ask Guru, our AI assistant, for example 'how does this team perform when defending a lead?' None of this is a betting or wagering service — it's an analysis tool.
What are Live Predictions and how often do they update?
+Live Predictions is the tab inside any live match's details screen that shows a continuously refreshed win probability — home, draw, or away — alongside the current match minute. It updates roughly once a minute while the match is in play, and also covers a next-15-minutes goal probability, rest-of-half and rest-of-match projections, a live xG and goal-ladder projection, and over/under and BTTS markets. It's currently free for every signed-in user, on every plan.
What is Guru Summary?
+Guru Summary is a daily digest that pulls the day's predictions into one screen, reachable from the Guru Vision icon in the app's bottom navigation. It's organized into Best Predictions, Safe Matches, Strong Value and Value Matches, Starting Soon, and Live Now with Live Surprises. It also includes a Results section that tracks how the model's own past predictions have actually performed, broken down by confidence tier, so you can judge the track record yourself instead of taking our word for it.
Does Goal Guru provide advanced football statistics?
+Yes. Beyond live scores, you get stats most apps don't surface: goal distributions by 15-minute window, comeback rates, scored-first win percentages, clean sheet and BTTS rates, shot conversion and accuracy, attacks and dangerous attacks split by half, and home/away performance splits. You can also compare two teams side by side, and run historical pattern analysis (backtesting) to see how often a specific match condition occurred across past games.
What football stats and match events does Goal Guru track?
+Goal Guru tracks the raw events as they happen — goals, shots on and off target, corners, yellow and red cards, and substitutions — plus calculated stats built from those events: possession percentage, attacks and dangerous attacks (a dangerous attack is a possession that enters a genuinely threatening area, not just any touch inside the opposition half), Expected Goals or xG (a shot's estimated probability of scoring, based on distance, angle, and situation, rather than just counting shots), and momentum (which team is currently controlling territory and pressure). On top of live events, historical stats add goal distribution by 15-minute period, comeback rate, scored-first percentage, clean sheet and BTTS (both teams to score) rates, and shot conversion and accuracy. You can set Smart Alerts on any of these — raw events or calculated stats — not just the scoreline.
How does Goal Guru's prediction model work?
+Our prediction models combine several layers of data: live in-match stats (shots, xG, possession, dangerous attacks) weighted most heavily since they reflect what's actually happening on the pitch, recent form from the last 5-10 matches, head-to-head history between the two teams, and season-wide averages. Pre-Match Predictions run this against the data available before kickoff. Live Predictions re-run it roughly every minute once the match is live, so the numbers shift as the game does. We don't publish a single headline accuracy number here, because a static claim can't stay honest as models improve or conditions change — instead, Guru Summary's Results section shows real, ongoing accuracy broken down by confidence tier, generated from the model's actual past predictions, so you can check the track record yourself rather than trust a marketing figure.
How do Smart Alerts work?
+Smart Alerts are custom match conditions you define once — Goal Guru then watches every live match for you. For example: 'the home team records 5+ shots in the last 15 minutes' or 'more than 2 goals are scored in the first half.' You choose the events (shots, corners, cards, goals), the team target, the time window, and the threshold — and you can limit an alert to specific leagues or match minutes. The moment all conditions are met in any live match, you get an instant push notification with the match context.
Can I try the app before purchasing a subscription?
+Yes — Goal Guru's Free tier is free forever, with no credit card required. It includes 1 active Smart Alert, 1 focus league, basic push notifications, access to live stats, and a weekly allowance of backtesting credits. If you want more simultaneous alerts, more leagues, and advanced filtering, the Striker and Guru plans unlock higher limits — see the Pricing page for a full comparison.
Which football leagues are supported?
+We support hundreds of football leagues worldwide. That includes top-tier competitions like the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and the Champions League, as well as lower divisions, regional leagues, and international tournaments. If you follow a smaller league, chances are it's covered — and you can set any league as a favorite so its matches always surface first.
What platforms is Goal Guru available on?
+Goal Guru is available for iOS on the App Store and Android on Google Play. Download it, sign in, and you're tracking matches in under a minute. This website covers plans, the blog, and support — the full tracking experience lives in the app.
Can I manage my Subscription via the Website?

To change or cancel a plan: on iOS, go to Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions; on Android, open the Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions.
